Plastic Applications

The range of industrial plastics is extremely broad, and their technical characteristics and morphologies provide an enormous number of possibilities, some of which are still in the process of development

The three main groups of plastics are:
• Thermoset plastics
• Elastomers
• Thermoplastics

In terms of type and application thermoplastics forms the largest group. This group is subdivided by structure into amorphous and semi-crystalline.

Within this group it is also possible to distinguish three sub-groups according to sector of application, high performance polymers, plastics designed for special applications (ABS, PA-66,...) and those which are extensively or generically applied (PE, PP, PVC,...)

This has led us to the conclusion that when designing a plastic part and its fastening to other components of the final product, it is important to take into account factors such as the fastening process, the material to be used and the mechanical requirements of the fastening.
